Check Your Heart: Pride in Money
Check Your Heart is a weekly reminder that following Jesus starts on the inside. We’re not just managing behaviors — we’re letting God transform our hearts. Each post hits one issue, gives you a biblical lens, a practical checklist, and a moment of honest reflection. Because real change doesn’t begin at the surface — it begins at the source.

📝 Check Your Heart: Pride in Money
📖 Verse:
“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God...”
— 1 Timothy 6:17 (NIV)
💸 Check Your Heart List: Pride in Money
✅ Do I feel more secure the higher my bank account is?
✅ Do I compare my lifestyle to others to feel validated?
✅ Do I think my financial status makes me better than someone else?
✅ Do I give to look generous — or to honor God?
✅ Do I trust money more quickly than I trust prayer?
🔍 Reflection:
Pride in money is sneaky. It’s not always flashy — sometimes it hides in a feeling of control or superiority. But when your identity starts to rise and fall with your net worth, it’s no longer a tool — it’s a throne. God isn’t against wealth — He’s against worshiping it. The question isn’t “Do I have money?” — it’s “Does money have me?”
🙏 Final Encouragement:
Ask God this week to reveal where pride is hiding in your finances. Humility starts by remembering that everything we have is grace — not status.
